About American Upright MRI
American Upright MRI, known as AUMRI, is a diagnostic imaging centre located in the RDK-1 Building, Dubai Investments Park 1.
The centre is equipped with an Upright Multi-Positional MRI scanner manufactured by Fonar Corporation, which it describes as the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Unlike conventional MRI machines, where patients lie inside a narrow tube, upright MRI lets patients be scanned while standing, sitting or lying down.
Scanning in weight-bearing positions can show problems in the spine and joints that may not appear when lying down.
The open design is also more comfortable for patients who feel claustrophobic in traditional MRI scanners.
Imaging centres in Dubai are licensed by the Dubai Health Authority and receive referrals from doctors.
Startups UAE lists American Upright MRI among Dubai's diagnostic imaging centres.
