About DIFC FinTech Hive
DIFC FinTech Hive is the fintech accelerator and ecosystem platform of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). It was launched in 2017 and was one of the first fintech accelerators in the Middle East.
Its accelerator programme connects startups with banks, insurers and other financial institutions that act as partners. Startups work on solutions to real challenges set by these partners, with the aim of securing pilots and commercial contracts.
Over the years, the programme has covered areas such as fintech, insurtech, regtech and Islamic finance, attracting startups from around the world.
DIFC has created a range of licences and frameworks to make it easier for fintech companies to set up, including innovation testing licences that allow startups to test products under supervision of the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
The DIFC Innovation Hub, which hosts the FinTech Hive and many technology firms, has become one of the region's largest clusters of fintech and tech companies.
