Abu Dhabi company that brings natural gas from Qatar to the UAE and Oman by pipeline

About Dolphin Energy

Dolphin Energy is an energy company based in Abu Dhabi that produces natural gas in Qatar and transports it by pipeline to the UAE and Oman. It is majority-owned by Mubadala, with TotalEnergies and Occidental Petroleum as partners.

The project draws gas from Qatar's North Field, one of the largest gas fields in the world. The gas is processed at Ras Laffan in Qatar and sent through a subsea pipeline across the Gulf to Taweelah in Abu Dhabi, from where it is distributed to customers.

Gas from Dolphin has been an important source of fuel for power and water plants in the UAE, as well as for industry, since flows began in 2007.

The pipeline is one of the region's main cross-border energy links and has continued to operate through periods of regional tension.

Natural gas is central to the UAE's electricity supply, alongside growing solar and nuclear power.

Long-term gas supply agreements provide stable fuel for utilities and industrial users.
