About Esri UAE
Esri is a US company and the world's leading provider of geographic information system (GIS) software, best known for ArcGIS. It serves the UAE through a regional presence and partners.
GIS software lets organisations map, analyse and manage information based on location. A city government might use it to plan roads, manage utilities and track building permits, while a retailer might analyse where to open stores.
In the UAE, GIS is used widely across government, including urban planning, transport, utilities, environment, emergency services and land registration. Entities such as municipalities, police and utilities rely on mapping platforms for daily operations.
Esri's tools also support smart city projects, digital twins of buildings and cities, and environmental monitoring, such as tracking coastal changes or desert ecosystems.
The company works with local partners for implementation, training and support, and its users include universities that teach GIS skills.
Location data has become increasingly important as cities grow and governments digitise services.
Esri is a US company rather than a UAE startup, and Startups UAE lists its UAE presence among the technology providers serving the country.
