About JA Resorts
JA Resorts & Hotels is a Dubai-based hospitality group known for one of the emirate's oldest beach resorts. Its flagship, JA The Resort in Jebel Ali, grew from the Jebel Ali Hotel, which opened in 1981 when the area was far from the city centre.
JA The Resort is a large resort complex on the coast near the Abu Dhabi border, with several hotels, a marina, a golf course, beaches, a shooting club, an equestrian centre and many restaurants. It is popular with families and residents looking for staycations away from the busy city.
Over time, the group expanded with properties such as JA Ocean View Hotel in Jumeirah Beach Residence and JA Lake View Hotel, along with resorts outside the UAE, including in the Maldives and Seychelles.
The group's long history in Dubai gives it a loyal following among residents who have visited for decades.
Staycations have become a major part of the UAE hotel market, with residents booking weekend breaks at resorts, especially in the cooler months.
Hotels in Dubai are regulated by the Department of Economy and Tourism, which classifies properties and sets standards.
