About Junkbot
Junkbot is an educational technology startup based at the in5 incubator in Dubai Knowledge Park. It makes DIY robotics kits that let children and adults build working robots from everyday objects.
Instead of using expensive parts, Junkbot kits turn household items such as plastic bottles, old CDs, wooden spoons and cardboard into imaginative robots.
The robots can be programmed for different functions, with activities designed for different skill levels, making the kits suitable for beginners and more advanced learners.
This approach combines STEM education with creativity and recycling, teaching children about electronics, coding and engineering while encouraging them to reuse materials.
Schools and families in the UAE have shown strong interest in STEM and robotics education, supported by national initiatives to build future skills.
Being part of in5 gives the startup access to mentoring, networking and investors.
Startups UAE lists Junkbot among Dubai's edtech startups.
