About Washmen
Washmen is a Dubai startup that turned laundry and dry cleaning into an app-based service. Founded in 2015 by Jad Halaoui and Rami Shaar, it collects clothes from customers' doors, cleans them in its own facility and delivers them back.
Customers book a pickup through the app, choose services such as wash and fold, dry cleaning, ironing, shoe cleaning or bedding care, and track their order until it is returned.
Running its own cleaning facility allows Washmen to control quality, turnaround times and processes, instead of relying on small local laundries.
The service suits Dubai's lifestyle. Many residents live in apartments without space for laundry, work long hours, or simply prefer to outsource chores.
Washmen has raised venture funding to grow its operations and has served both individual customers and businesses such as hotels and gyms.
On-demand home services have become popular in the UAE, with apps for cleaning, laundry, car washes and groceries all competing for convenience-minded customers.
Startups UAE lists Washmen among Dubai's consumer services startups.
