About Dubai Future Foundation
The Dubai Future Foundation is a government institution set up in 2016 to prepare Dubai for the future. It works on initiatives that explore emerging technologies and test new ideas in government and business.
It is best known for the Museum of the Future, which opened in 2022 on Sheikh Zayed Road. The building's torus shape, covered in Arabic calligraphy, has become one of Dubai's most recognisable landmarks, and its exhibitions imagine life in the coming decades.
The foundation runs Dubai Future Accelerators, a programme that pairs startups with government entities to develop solutions to specific challenges, often leading to pilots and contracts.
It also manages Area 2071, an innovation hub, and Dubai Future District, which brings together innovation spaces and economic zones.
Research and foresight are part of its work, with reports on future trends in areas such as AI, mobility, health and the economy, and the annual Dubai Future Forum.
Programmes for young people, such as fellowships and training, aim to build skills for future jobs.
Startups UAE lists the Dubai Future Foundation among Dubai's innovation institutions.
