About Fortes Education
Fortes Education is a Dubai-based education group that operates private schools in the emirate. Its schools serve children from early years through to the end of secondary education.
The group's schools have included Hartland International School in Meydan, Sunmarke School in Jumeirah Village Triangle and Raffles campuses, offering British and international curricula, including programmes such as the International Baccalaureate in some schools.
Private schools educate the majority of children in Dubai, since most of the population is expatriate. Families can choose from British, American, IB, Indian, French and other curricula, and school groups compete on academic results, facilities and fees.
Education groups like Fortes aim to provide a consistent standard across their schools while giving each campus its own identity.
All private schools in Dubai are regulated and inspected by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which publishes inspection ratings that many parents use when choosing a school.
Facilities such as sports grounds, swimming pools, performing arts spaces and technology labs are an important part of what parents consider, along with teaching quality and class sizes.
